Introduce yourself and your role.
Hey, I’m Levi Nitzberg, Qloo’s Senior Vice President of Growth.
You first heard about Qloo when you were on the client side at Tinder. What about Qloo’s technology caught your attention?
It was awesome and unique to be able to explore Qloo on the client side. We were looking at different technologies to improve our algorithms, as well as the efficacy of our recommendations, and Qloo’s ability to sit across all things culture—not just a Netflix movie or a Spotify music artist, but being able to explore all things culture and taste—really made it stand out amongst the competitive set.
What are some of the more unique problems Qloo’s intelligence is being deployed to solve?
One of the things I love about leading growth at Qloo is the number of industries we’re able to tap into. You can think about travel and personalization across different itineraries, in sports around audience expansion, and then even in real estate, looking at new locations for a retailer to develop in. With cookie deprecation and trends evolving faster than they ever have, Qloo is uniquely positioned to sit across all different types of challenges and solve unique B2C customer needs.
You oversee Qloo’s Sales or Marketing teams. How would you describe what makes an ideal candidate?
I love this question because I actually come from a recruiting background. For me, at the end of the day, it’s about delivering for all clients, both internal and external. We definitely look for people who have high EQ and IQ, great energy, a willingness to collaborate, and a no-job-too-small mindset, helping on all parts of the Qloo organization.
You know a thing or two about building successful teams from your time at Tinder. How would you describe the environment you’re building at Qloo?
It was awesome to be a founding member of the Tinder organization and to be able to bring a lot of the key successes to the growth here at Qloo. One of the big things I love is the idea of one team working towards one goal. We all have to work hand in hand and be so collaborative to deliver for Qloo’s customers. Another one is just the mentality of “owning it.” You need to take accountability, you need to deliver, and be a part of an organization that strives to succeed on all ends of the business. Then I’d also say this idea of open-ended curiosity, the fact that none of us can ever stop learning, and really developing this need and curiosity to work with your colleagues and learn from some of the smartest people in the industry.
What are some of your cultural tastes that people may not suspect about you?
I love a good fun question. One of the cool things that really opened my mind around culture and taste is having the opportunity to explore all 50 states and seeing the unique differences, but also similarities across so many of our different states here in the US. I’m also a beach vacation connoisseur, nothing sounds better than reading a book on a beach. Surfing, just being in the water, I absolutely love it. And then orange wine. I’m a big wine guy. I went from red to white and now I’m on the orange natural organic wine chain.
